Chase Infiniti is set to star in "Portrait of God," the horror feature from writer-director Dylan Clark that Lionsgate has acquired and greenlit for production. The project marks the first collaboration between horror heavyweights Sam Raimi and Jordan Peele, who will produce together.

The feature expands on Clark's viral horror short of the same name, which he uploaded to YouTube in 2022 and which has since amassed more than 8.6 million views. The short centers on a religious young woman who discovers the disquieting answer to the question, "What does God look like?" Opening with the Old Testament quote "No man shall see Me and live," it follows Mia as she presents a work of art dubbed "Portrait of God." To some viewers the painting appears completely black. Others report seeing a person in the darkness, described time and again in consistent detail. Plot details for the feature version are being kept under wraps.

Raimi will produce through his Ghost House Pictures banner alongside Rob Tapert, while Peele produces through his Monkeypaw Productions alongside Win Rosenfeld. Clark co-wrote the screenplay with Joe Russo ("The Inheritance") and directs. The project was originally set up at Universal Pictures in December 2025 before going into turnaround.

"We're delighted to deepen our creative partnership with Dylan Clark, whose remarkable talent and distinctive perspective make him one of the most exciting emerging voices in horror," Lionsgate Motion Picture Group chair Adam Fogelson said in a statement. "With Sam and Jordan, two of the genre's most influential producers, the extraordinary Chase Infiniti starring, and Dylan at the helm, this is an exceptional creative team. We believe they have all the ingredients for a film that is haunting, thought-provoking, and scary as hell."

Clark added: "With 'Blair Witch,' I'm experiencing firsthand the trust Lionsgate places in its filmmakers, and I couldn't be happier that 'Portrait of God' has found a home there as well. I'm also thrilled to welcome Chase Infiniti to our team. She blew me away in 'One Battle After Another' and is one of the most exciting young actors working today."

Infiniti broke out as Willa in Paul Thomas Anderson's Academy Award Best Picture winner "One Battle After Another," earning Golden Globe and Emmy nominations. She also stars as Agnes MacKenzie in Hulu's "The Testaments" and led "The Julia Set," which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. Clark, meanwhile, is also set to direct Lionsgate's 2027 reboot of "The Blair Witch Project," making "Portrait of God" his second collaboration with the studio.
