Sony made a slew of release date announcements Wednesday at Cinema United's Fall Summit, and the headliners are big. Ridley Scott's feature take on Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island, starring Hugh Jackman as Long John Silver, lands November 11, 2027. The Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill, and Ice Cube reteam for 24 Jump Street drives into theaters December 10, 2027.

Treasure Island also stars Hugh Grant and Owen Cooper, with Jack Thorne adapting the classic tale. Scott and Michael Pruss produce via Scott Free. 24 Jump Street comes from filmmaker Rodney Rothman, who wrote the script with Hill and Meghan Malloy, with Neal H. Moritz, Phil Lord, Chris Miller, Tatum, and Hill producing.

Also added: Sony's recent TIFF acquisition The Surgeon, Michelle Yeoh's action film from director Roshan Sethi, on April 2, and the Mason Thames-Ella Bright drama Narcs on August 20. On the move list, Takashi Yamazaki's Bad Robot production Grandgear shifts from February 18, 2028 to MLK weekend, January 14, 2028, while Justin Lin's PlayStation adaptation Helldivers starring Alan Ritchson moves from November 10, 2027 to prime summer territory on June 9, 2028.

Key dates:
- Treasure Island (Ridley Scott, Hugh Jackman): November 11, 2027
- 24 Jump Street (Tatum, Hill, Ice Cube): December 10, 2027
- The Surgeon (Michelle Yeoh): April 2
- Narcs (Mason Thames, Ella Bright): August 20
- Grandgear (Takashi Yamazaki): January 14, 2028
- Helldivers (Alan Ritchson): June 9, 2028

Why this matters: Release dates are chess moves, and Sony just showed its hand for two straight years. Treasure Island getting Veterans Day before cameras even roll tells you the studio's confidence level, and Helldivers sliding into June means Sony thinks it has a summer player. For actors, the calendar is the business: these dates decide which projects get oxygen and which get buried, so watch who moves next.
